Day 1. Fly to Lukla (2800m). Trek to Phakding (2810m):
A small airstrip high above the Dudh Kosi valley. After meeting your trekking staff and porters at Lukla, your trek begins by descending to Chaunrikharka and heading up the Dudh Kosi valley to Phakding, Phakding is a nice place to stop for acclimatization.
Day 2. Trek to Namche Bazar (3445m) (4/5 hrs) O/N at Lodge
The trail follows Dudh Koshi river. After Jorsale the trail makes steep winding path to Namche bazar. Namchebazar is a commercial center of Khumbu region. It is an important stop for trekkers and mountaineers on way to base camps of Everest and many other mountains in that area. It is home of Sherpa ethnic group. Their traditional occupation used to be yak herders and traders. Now due to change in geopolitical condition they have changed their occupation to tourism. They are well known as trekking and mountaineering guides and widely used as high altitude porters by expedition teams. Their religion is Buddhist.
Day 3. Trek to syangboche (3810m): 3 hours O/N at Lodge
After breakfast make gradual ascent to the airstrip at Syangboche. It is about two hours easy walk. Visit to the Everst View Hotel for panoramic view of Mt. Everest and Amadamlam is reccomended. You may visit Khunde and Khumjung villages beyond Syangboche to know the Sherpa way of life, many mountaineers and climber were born in this village, retrace tail via Everest View Hotel. Return to Syanboche .
Day 4. In Syangboche or Namache Bazzar - O/N at Lodge
On this day you can just relax seeing the mighty himalaya to your palate or visit Namche Bazaar or Khunde or Khumjung more in depth.
Day 5. Lukla (2800 m) 6-7 hours - O/N at Lodge
Your final day trekking follows the Dudh Kosi back down to Lukla. The last evening in the mountains is the ideal opportunity for a farewell party with the sherpa guides and porters, retrace trail to Lukla
Day 6. Fly back Kathmandu- 45 minutes - transfer to hotel
Fly to Kathmandu by early morning flight, transfer to Hotel.
Note: The schedule stops as shown above are a guideline only. It may change due to logistic reason and other condition like weather, etc. that are beyond our control. Flight to remote mountain airstrip like Lukla is subject to weather and technical condition. All flights are in early morning. In winter the thick fog in Kathmandu airport in the morning may delay flight to and from Lukla. Trek to Everest base camp is a popular trek. There are several good quality lodge accommodation on the trail. Two night before and three night after the trek in Kathmandu is suggested to allow for flight delay to and from Lukla. Please note there is no refund for unused service.
We advise all participants not to expect western standard of comfort, lodges have basic but good enough sleeping bed.
