Day 1: Fly to Pokhara Drive to Nayapul. Trek to Tirkhedhunga(2080m) - 5 hrs
Transfer to airport. Fly to Pokhara. Flight departure time is 9 am. The flight duration is 35 minutes to Pokhara. Leave Pokhara at 10am. We drive the winding road that goes gradually up the hill to Kade, Lumle and descent to Nayapul (1100m); it is about an hour and half drive from Pokhara. Nayapul is situated on the bank of Modi River. After making loads for the porter we walk to Birenthati (1025 m) and climb gradually to Ramdali for lunch. After lunch we continue to climb the trail for one and half hour to Tirkhedunga (1540m).
Day 2: Trek to Ghorepani (3194m) - 4 hrs
After breakfast climb the steep and long trail to Ulleri (1960m). It takes us about little more than and hour. After another 2 and half hour walk we stop for lunch at Banthati. We continue to climb the trail through wet temperate forests of Oak and rhododendron forests until Ghorepani (2860m) is reached in about 3 hour. If the weather is fine we suggest members to walk up about an hour to the summit of the Poon hill to see panoramic view of Annapurna himalayan range. Alternatively it can be done next day in the early morning. Ghorepani is one of the best place to pass by on the foothill of Annapurna for a magnificent view of the panorama of the Himalayan peaks. Most of the habitants in this village are Magars.
Day 3: Trek to Tadapani (2595 m) - hrs
Visit Poon Hill (3100m) in the early morning which is about one hour uphill walk, you can have the excellent views of Machapuchre, Annapurnas and Dhaulagiri and Nilgiri Himal and in spring best views of Rhododendron flowers in its vicinity or in the trail in between Ghorepani-Ghandrung . The red one called Lali Gurans, which is the national flower of Nepal. From Ghorepani you leave the main trail that leads you to Jomsom/Muktinath, instead you now walk to Tadapani which fairy easy and leisure. Walk across the villages and tea house dotted on the trail gives enormous thrill feeling.After the magnificent view from Poon hill, you will walk through easy trail, a little steep up at the beginning, this day walking is pleasant as you cross through rhododendron forests, beautiful view of Annapurna South is visible constantly on the trail. Lunch stop would be at Banthanti. From Banthanti to Tadapani is about 1 hour walk relatively easy and pleasant.
Day 4: Trek to Ghandrung (1940m) - 3 hours
Trek to Ghandrung leisurely. Some parts of the trail are slippery during December and January due to snow condition. Decend to Ghandrung.
Ghandrung is a large Gurung village located above Modi Khola (river). This place offers excellent views of Annapapurna South, Gangapurna (7455m). Annapurna III (7555m), and Machapuchre (Fishtail) at the far reaches of the valley. There are several hotels and tea houses here.
Day 5: Trek to Dhumpus (1770m)- 6 hrs.
From Ghandrung it is a steep descent on a stone staircase down to the Modi Khola and then climbabout 1000ft to Landrung. The trail then ascends very gradually through meadows to Tolka. From Tolka the trail climbs up to a pass and then descends very gradually to Pothana . From Pothana it is about 1-hour walk down to Dhampus.
Day 6: Day 06: Phedi / Pokhara - 2 hours
From Dhampus there is a steep descent through farms to the flat valley. About 2 hours leisure walk you will able to reach the road head that leads to Pokhara. A scenery drive to Pokhara will give you a pleasant drivce for about an hour. Transfer to Hotel.
It is also possible to make a long walk through the village of Astam where there is a comfortable and luxury lodge facing the photogenic peak of Machhapuchare that loom large in front of you. This trail descent through villages to Milan chowk in Hyangja from where we can catch transport to Pokhara. (Accommodation and meals at Astham are not included in the cost)
